I have a love/hate relationship with places like Nana.
I love the Mexican and down-home inspired cuisine; but I hate that the array of great options make it impossible to choose what to order.
Sunday’s brunch with my cousins at this family-owned, Bridgeport restaurant was nothing short of amazing. Nana’s organic, local-when-possible philosophy means that you’ll be getting fresh, high-quality food in the form of inventive and delicious dishes. This brunch/lunch/dinner spot is friendly to all types of eaters, offering everything from duck gravy to tofu.
I loved my Huevos Rancheros breakfast, which consisted of scrambled eggs, crispy tortillas, refried pinto beans, onions, peppers, guacamole, soyrizo (vegetarian chorizo) and this ridiculous poblano cream sauce.
We had a communal Blueberry and Granola pancake that was insane!
Other orders included the Nanadict, the Grilled Chile de Arbol-Marinated Tofu, and Crispy Chickpea Frites from the lunch menu. Everyone was utterly obsessed with their food!
