Arami

With all the hype surrounding Arami, I was expecting big things from the West Town sushi restaurant. Although there weren’t fireworks with each bite, we did enjoy some unusual appetizers and fresh sushi. The food presentation was quite beautiful, making it fun to anticipate what the next dish would look like.

Of all the things we tried, the only thing I would not recommend was the Suki Yaki noodles. The soup lacked flavor and the beef was chewy and tasteless. All three appetizers we had were great, from the Spicy Octopus Springrolls, to the Seared Tuna. The yellow tail sashimi with mushrooms and truffle oil was a standout, contrary to the rolls, which were good, but nothing particularly memorable.
