A Year Of Glori

It all started a little over a year ago.

I was in NYC visiting my brother and sister-in-law.

We were enjoying a nice lunch at Ditch Plains on the Upper West Side. I was photographing my Ditch Dog (read: hot dog with macarroni & cheese on top) while talking about all the restaurants I couldn’t wait to try while I was in town.

It was at this moment that my sister-in-law urged me to stop talking and start writing. With my a deep-seeded love for cooking, eating, writing, and recommending restaurants, she insisted I do something with this passion, and start a blog.

I tossed around her suggestion in my head for a few days. I qustioned why I hadn’t started one sooner, and I also questioned why start one at all. But finally, the decision was clear. Since I had never read one blog before I began mine, I literally had to Google “How to start a blog”. Soon enough, Glori of Food was born…and I haven’t looked back.

So, on the One Year Anniversary of my blog’s birth, I owe my sister-in-law a huge THANK YOU for encouraging and motivating me to do something that I look forward to every day!

With all that being said, I had every intention of baking cupcakes in celebration of this milestone. However, when I came home last night, I found a surprise in the refrigerator. My adorable husband had left for Vegas for the weekend, but not before planting a “Happy Anniversary Glori” cake from my favorite Chicago bakery, Sweet Mandy B’s. He really knows the way to a girl’s heart 🙂

Thanks for reading, and I look forward to another delicious year of Glori!
