I love waking up on Saturday mornings knowing there are two work-free days with endless possibilities.
One of my favorite things to do on Saturday mornings is to go to brunch somewhere I’ve never been. Chicago offers countless places to explore, and with my ever-growing list of restaurants I want to try, it excites me to be able to cross off something. Last Saturday it was Floriole being crossed off the list.
Nestled in the heart of Lincoln Park, the adorable cafe and bakery’s pastry cases flirt with you as you walk in the door. Stocked with beautiful tarts, croissants, cookies, and breads, there’s nothing that wouldn’t taste amazing alongside the latte that I enjoyed. Immediately, I was basking in the quaintness of the French-style eatery.
My husband ordered the Smoked Turkey Sandwich with avocado, bacon, and lettuce with cilantro vinaigrette on baguette, which was so tasty. I had order envy since his sandwich was better than my Ramp & Swiss Quiche.
The pastry case continued to say “come-hither,” so I couldn’t leave without trying something. I chose a blueberry scone, which was packed with fruit and topped with raw sugar. It was awesome, and not at all dry like some scones.
